AUD/JPY fails to hold above 97.00

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The aussie extended gains during the Asian session against the yen and reached levels last seen back in January. AUD/JPY peaked at 97.28 but then lost strength and retreated.

The pair turned to the downside and bottomed hours ago at 96.10. From there rebounded but it was unable to rise back above 97.00 and currently trades at 96.30/35, down 0.30% for the day, losing ground after rising during the previous two days more than 200 pips.

AUD/JPY short term technical levels

To the upside immediate resistance lies at 96.80 (American session high), 97.00 and 97.25/30 (daily high). On the opposite direction support could be located at 96.10 (daily low), 95.90 (May 12 (high) and 95.45.
