Key events for the week ahead - Rabobank

Analysts at Rabobank offered the key events ahead for today and the rest of the trading week.

Key Quotes:

"Today we only have PMI data to look at in much of Europe and the US.

Tomorrow has the German IFO survey and BoE members testifying in parliament, a rate decision in Turkey, the Fed’s Fischer on monetary policy, then US consumer confidence and existing home sales. Wednesday has just Aussie Q4 wage data and US new home sales; Thursday sees final Eurozone January CPI and US durable goods; and Friday shows us Japanese and German CPI, and US Q4 GDP.

Thursday and Friday then see various key finance ministers and central bankers in Shanghai for the IIF G20 conference. Panel discussions will focus on reinvigorating the global economy and world trade; capital flows; the G20 regulatory agenda; infrastructure investment; and sovereign debt restructuring; and sustainable finance. Expect lots of potentially market-moving headlines: everything is indeed politics."

AUD/USD bulls take an early lead this week

AUD/USD is currently trading at 0.7158 with a high of 0.7166 and a low of 0.7135 with some underlying support in the commodities sector, specifically in the metals, albeit meeting supply at time or writing.
