Eurozone CPI ticks higher in July, matches estimates

The consumer prices in the 19-nations bloc edged slightly higher in July on annual basis, a month after the region emerged from a four-month technical deflation, data from Eurostat revealed.

Eurozone CPI rose 0.2% y/y in July, accelerating from the 0.1% rise seen in June. While the data came in line with market expectations.

Meanwhile, the core measure, excluding alcohol, tobacco, food and energy, rose 0.9% y/y in the reported month, the same as in June, and matched forecasts.
