US: Manufacturers’ and trade inventories were at $1,873.9 bln, up 0.2% from June

"Manufacturers’ and trade inventories were estimated at an end-of-month level of $1,873.9 billion, up 0.2 percent from June 2017 and were up 3.0 percent from July 2016," the US Census Bureau announced on Friday.

Key highlights:

  • The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of July was 1.38.
  • The July 2016 ratio was 1.40.
  • The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for July was estimated at $1,358.8 billion, up 0.2 percent from June 2017 and was up 4.9 percent from July 2016.
