Flash: UK economy to expand 2.8% in 2014 - Investec

FXStreet (Barcelona) - Jonathan Pryor, Corporate Treasury Analyst at Investec, noted the updated UK economic growth forecast by the British Chamber of Commerce.

Key Quotes

"Back home, the British Chamber of Commerce upgraded its UK economic growth forecasts from 2.7 to 2.8% this year which is significant because it means the overall size of the UK economy is expected to overtake its peak level from before the 2008 financial crisis by the summer".

"The group gave a bright outlook pointing to businesses expanding and job creation, however it also warned of an "unacceptably high" level of youth unemployment, a problem shared with large parts of the Euro area. With no data of note today, the markets will have time to digest fridays payroll numbers and look to a busy week ahead of activity data."
