Speculative U.S. 10-year T-note net shorts hit highest in a year - Reuters

Speculators' net bearish bets on U.S. 10-year Treasury note futures rose this week to their highest in almost a year during the week ended Feb. 6, according to Commodity Futures Trading Commission data released on Friday.

The net short positions in 10-year Treasury futures exceeded bullish, or long, positions by 327,540 contracts on Feb. 6 - the highest since the week of Feb. 28, 2017. 

The US 10-year yield rose more than 30 basis points in January to 2.75 percent and has extended gains to a four-year high of 2.885 percent this month.
