US data outturns have remained quite resilient - ANZ

Analysts at ANZ explained that despite recent market volatility and speculation about slowing growth, US data outturns have remained quite resilient.

Key Quotes:

"Earlier in the week the US PMI held at expansionary levels. And on Tuesday night, we saw consumer confidence was elevated in April at 128.7 (compared with 127.0 expected), new home sales rebounded 4% in March (compared with 1.9% expected) and house price inflation rose in February (+6.8% y/y)."

"All of which paints a picture of resilience in spite of recent market wobbles. The advance reading of US Q1 GDP will be out on Friday night, providing a more concrete steer on activity through the start of 2018."
