US ambassador: Trump wants more farm exports to China
Terry Branstad, the US ambassador to China, stated that US President Trump wants to see a big increase in US farm exports to China.
The statement comes at a key moment, with China's Vice-Premier in the US for Tuesday to continue US-China trade talks. The clod-fisted statement is likely a hope for reciprocal behaviour following Trump's surprise waiving of Commerce Department sanctions on Chinese telecoms company ZTE, which was barred from US markets for seven years, and effectively forced into bankruptcy after the US Commerce Department discovered the company was illegally selling US technology to Iran.
